The Miller Family Began Non-GMO Feed And Farm Production In 2003, The Start Of Sunrise Farms.
From a legacy of farming, Maynard and Shirley Miller purchased a 90-acre farm in 2003 to provide a livelihood for our extensive family. We named our Stuarts Draft farm Sunrise Farms to pay homage to the incredible sunrise that peaks over the rising hills to the east, bringing light the promise of a new day to our land. From the start, our family knew we wanted to provide great service to our family and community with ethical farming practices that honored our agricultural roots and was consistent with our faith. The non-GMO movement attracted us for the ability to align our values of service, stewardship, and strong relationships to meet the needs of the non-GMO farm community. We have upgraded the 1940s mill on the farm and continuously expanded our scope of services since we began in 2003.
Our Family Farm Values Run Deep With Service As Our Foundation.
We love working with our hands, cultivating the natural bounty of the land, and caring for our animals. With service as a foundational value in our family, we strive to provide excellent service to our community in all that we do. We are careful stewards of our resources and take a conservation approach to our farm, which helps keep costs down for our customers. We employ ethical farming practices as a return to the basics of family, community, faith, and hard work.
Our Vision And Mission Center On Service Excellence Guided By Our Values And Faith.
We started with the confidence that our vision of living our values to serve our community through producing non-GMO feed and all-natural meat would be the right path for our family. We quickly came to serve Nelson County and Albemarle County farmers seeking fresh and local non-GMO feed, affirming for us that we had made the right decision to start Sunrise Farms. Now we provide fresh non-GMO feed all over the East Coast and can ship throughout the contiguous United States. Our storefront supplies all-natural meat, eggs, and honey to our community. We have remained true to our values of service, building strong relationships, and stewardship of natural resources.
