Apple Pork Chops
This tasty dinner is a perfect way to celebrate fall in Virginia.
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp. of butter
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp. of apple cider
- 3 apples (any variety you prefer)
- 1 tbsp. of Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp. of chopped fresh sage
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
In a large cast iron skillet, melt 1½ tbsp of butter over medium heat. Salt and pepper 4 bone-in pork chops and cook for about 6 minutes on each side to get a nice sear.
Add ½ a cup of apple cider to the skillet and place it in a 400-degree oven for 10–15 minutes.
While the pork is baking, core and thinly slice 3 apples. Cook the apples in 1½ tbsp of butter over medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Add 2 tbsp of apple cider and cook over high heat for 2 more minutes.
Place the pork chops on a plate. In the cast iron pan, whisk 1 tbsp of Dijon mustard and 1 tsp of chopped fresh sage into the remaining cider drippings. Place apples on top of the pork and drizzle with the sauce.

If you are purchasing a half or quarter of beef, you should find others to take the other half or quarter, or we may ask you to wait until we have sufficient orders to process the rest of the beef.
